Connect 4 Torus

Connect Four with Periodic Boundary Conditions

How to Play: Get four pieces in a row to win! Unlike regular Connect 4, you can place pieces anywhere on the board (no gravity). The board wraps around - pieces at the edges connect to pieces on the opposite edges, creating a torus topology.

Tic-Tac-Torus (Formerly "Connect 4 with no gravity and periodic boundary conditions")

I first encountered this variant of Connect 4 during my summer internship at Oxford's Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics. It was Param Luhadiya and Om Gupta, fellow interns, who introduced me to this ingenious perhaps even sadistic twist on the classic game.
